In order to obtain prescriptive authority to prescribe controlled substances in Mississippi, the MS Board of Medical Licensure requires the Physician Assistant to first attend a board approved educational program prior to making application. This educational course is approved by the MS Board of Medical Licensure and satisfies this requirement.
You don’t want to miss this event if you are a:
o Licensed Physician Assistant requiring continuing education to maintain your Mississippi Prescriptive Authority
o Physician Assistant new to Mississippi, or Physician Assistant Student, needing to complete required training to prescribe controlled substances
o Mid-Level Practitioner interested in learning about patients that are treated with controlled substances
The Controlled Substances Education Program will include information about avoiding prescribing pitfalls, disease states, a review of the current regulations and the appropriate documentation, maintaining your DEA Licensure, and pharmacology of controlled substances.

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 10 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Total number of approved credits yet to be determined.
